Why do the IB, and why do it at St. Clare's?

The IB is very well respected and valued by universities in the UK and all over the world.

At St. Clare's close to 100% of our IB students go on to university, many in the UK, including Oxford and Cambridge, some to the US and others to universities and higher education courses all over the world.

We employ a full time Careers Adviser who will guide you in your choice of university in this country or overseas, and help you through the application process.

The IB diploma provides both breadth and depth of study, allowing you a broad choice of disciplines at higher education.

Study skills acquired on the IB combined with St. Clare's approach to teaching our students, will enable you to make a seamless transfer to university study.

Small classes with a teacher:student ratio of 1:7, mean you will have a lot of individual attention, enabling you to maximise your potential grades.

St Clare's caters for the individual - you will be welcomed into a friendly house, well supported by your tutors, and house warden, and allowed to increasingly take responsibility for your own academic and personal life.

The international mix of students offers you a wonderful opportunity to learn about other countries and cultures and promotes international understanding.

If you are a student whose native language is not English, the IB, with its international studentship, does not put you at a disadvantage to native speakers.
