St. Clare's was founded in 1953 as an independent, international college. It was set up to establish links between British and other European students after the Second World War, and is a non-profit making educational charity.

From these beginnings, St. Clare's, Oxford has evolved in three different strands:

St. Clare's International College,offering courses leading to university entrance (The International Baccalaureate and the Foundation Year), Liberal Arts courses for university students, and English Language courses for 16+.

Other courses - Junior English Language courses for 10-16 during the Summer. International Summer School.

Educational Services worldwide - including ELT Teacher training, ELT testing and other Educational Consultancy services.
