1953-2003 - 50 Years of Promoting International Education & Understanding

Accommodation

  • St. Clare's welcomes day students living at home, although most are residential in College houses.
  • There are fifteen College houses for pre-university students. Formerly family houses, they accommodate between 7 and 25 students, mostly 15-20.
  • Each house has its own welcoming atmosphere.
  • All houses are very close to the central campus.
  • Separate houses for male and female students and for any students aged 18+
  • Each house has a resident warden responsible for the welfare and care of students, and for maintaining house rules.
  • Most rooms are twin rooms with some singles.
  • Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are provided in the dining room or the Sugar House café.

Welfare

  • Welfare is a prime concern of all staff.
  • Students have an individual mid-course tutorial with their group teacher.
  • Welfare team includes Director of Short Courses, Duty Manager, College Nurse, Student Services Officer and House Wardens.
  • Favourable staff : student ratio. In addition to teaching staff we have a team of 6 - 10 activities staff in the summer.
