Congratulations to the team from St. Clare's for qualifying for the national finals of the Wilderness Challenge to be held in Ullswater in the Lake District in March 2004.

The team consisted of Jennifer Crabtree, Jennifer Toonen, Rahul Shaikh, Tom Oconnell, Jo Corrie and Jo Jay (who had to drop out due to ill health). They faced several challenges which included building a shelter, rescuing a casualty, making a fire without matches, catching their own food, as well as several other problem-solving tasks. The only resources they had were the clothes they had on, their sleeping bags and their initiative. Well done, and thanks also to Tom Walsh, Assistant Principal, for overseeing their progress.
