St.
Clare's has a full-time Careers and Higher Education Adviser, available
to all students for advice and assistance on entry to British universities
and other higher education institutions. There is an extensive library
of prospectuses and information about higher education opportunities
in the UK at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Individual appointments
may be made with the Adviser to discuss future study plans.
The Careers
and Higher Education Adviser also assists students in making applications
to universities in other countries, except the USA. The US Universities
Counsellor assists students wishing to apply to universities in
the USA.
The College
has special programmes to assist students to prepare for IELTS (an
English language test required by some universities for non-native
speakers) and SATs (for US university entry).
- Each year
around 100 students from St. Clare's enter universities in the
UK, USA and elsewhere.
- About 40
enter British universities, mainly those considered "premier"
or "highly selective". These include Oxford; Cambridge;
Imperial College, London; London School of Economics (LSE); Warwick.
- 10-15 students
enter universities in the USA.
- Other students
enter universities in a variety of countries, such as the Netherlands,
Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
