English Language with subject studies, for students aged 16-19

This course is intended for students

  • who are aged 16-19 years
  • who wish to improve their English language and
  • then to study subjects in English (International Baccalaureate Diploma or A levels) before going on to university.

The course lasts for up to one year, arranged in five modules. We are still accepting applications for entry January 2005. Please contact Chris Osbourn, the Admissions Registrar for more information about a course combination to suit you.

Academic Year 2004/2005

Module 1 Thursday 2 September - Friday 22 October
Module 2 Sunday 31 October - Friday 17 December
Module 3 Sunday 9 January - Friday 18 February
Module 4 Sunday 20 February - Wednesday 23 March (Easter)
Module 5 Sunday 10 April - Friday 17 June

You may join the course for the whole year, or at the start of any module.

The English 16+ course is linked with our International Baccalaureate Diploma Preparatory (Pre-IB) course. Students may transfer to the pre-IB programme when their English becomes stronger. return to the top of the page


Students on the English 16+ course will not have completed secondary school in their own country.

  • If you are aged 18 or over, or
  • If you have completed school in your own country
one of our other courses may be more suitable for you
