Students on the University Foundation Course are assessed in English and their academic subjects. Assessment in English involves an IELTS test. These can be arranged at any time during the later stages of the course. Candidates are not allowed to repeat the test within three months. Most universities require an IELTS score of at least 6.0 by the end of the course. Each academic subject is assessed through a combination of coursework grades and final examination. Coursework grades are given throughout the first and second semesters. Each final examination is three hours long and is taken at the end of the course. The final academic grade for each subject is based on the average grade from the two semesters and from the examination. |
