Course Details
For students taking the IB Diploma Examinations in May or November 2006

This is a review course designed to cover work that most students will have completed in their first year of the IB Diploma course. Many students find it helpful to review work with a different teacher and thus benefit from a new approach to a topic.

Students will normally elect for a different subject on each of the three courses.

Subjects for 2005 still to be confirmed
Subjects offered in 2004 included:
Biology HL & SL Maths English A1( SL & HL)
Chemistry HL & SL Maths Methods History HL (Modern European)
Physics HL & SL Maths Studies Economics HL & SL

Whilst we cannot hope to review everything, teachers will cover the major topics of the subject syllabus and concentrate on those topics that appear frequently in exam papers.

As the group sizes are small, students are able to plug any gaps in their knowledge individually, with the teacher involved.

All courses include:

  • A review of work covered but not fully understood
  • Topics which frequently appear in examinations
  • Topics which students typically tend to find difficult
  • Practice on questions from past examination papers
  • Opportunities to address individual difficulties

In the residential college setting, students are asked to work hard and invariably find that this early consolidation and preparation enables them to tackle, with increased confidence, the second year of the Diploma programme and its final exams.

These courses are an ideal way for Diploma students to prepare in an organised and structured manner for the second year of their Diploma programme.
