Each year the Council for Independent Further Education awards a number of Richard Smart Prizes to students for outstanding achievement. Three St Clare’s students from the class of 2004 - Oliver Nabarro, Xiaonan Sun and Alice Halliday - will be presented with cash prizes by Baroness Perry (former chief Inspector of Schools and Cambridge head of house) at a special ceremony in the House of Lords. Other good news is that of the six St Clare’s students that graduated this year from University College London, five obtained first class degrees in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology, Economics and European Social and Political Studies. Results like these contribute to the high standing that St Clare’s enjoys with universities in Britain and North America. Tom Walsh, Vice Principal
