Unsurprisingly the vast majority of St. Clare's graduates move on to Higher Education degree courses, most commonly in the UK. Rankings: There is no official overall ranking system of universities in the UK. British newspapers devise their own systems which take into account different factors. At St. Clare's we have chosen to use the system devised by The Times newspaper alongside the similar format used by The Guardian newspaper. The Times Guide to Good Universities combines ratings for the following factors into a total: Teaching assessment, research assessment, entry standards, staff-student ratio, library/computing spending, facilities spending, First and Upper Second Class degrees awarded, graduate destinations; efficiency. The Guardian combines ratings for the factors listed below: Teaching Quality Assessment, Entry qualifications, Spending per student, Staff-Student Ratio, Value-added, Student Destinations, Inclusiveness. Course Ranking: University Departments and Courses are inspected regularly and ranked nationally. When choosing a university, the ranking of a particular course is as important as the university's overall ranking.
