Students who require additional English language
support may take extra English lessons in place of World Literature
or Mathematics.
Subjects are taught by teachers who have qualifications
in teaching of English as a foreign language or experience of teaching
non-native speakers of English.
The emphasis in all subjects is on the development
of relevant academic skills to prepare for IB Diploma work.
In the fifth module, students may prepare for IELTS
examinations, and the programme may be modified to give more time for
this. English language IELTS preparation may replace Science and Humanities.
Students not taking the IELTS test (including native speakers) undertake
project work in Science and Humanities.
In addition to the above programme, students are
also expected to engage in the College's activities programme.
Please note that students accepted on the pre-IB
programme are not automatically accepted for the IB Diploma programme.
We only accept on the IB Diploma programme students who we feel have
a sound chance of success.
