On Sunday, twenty one students participated in the annual "Only Fools Fun Run" in the Blenheim Palace grounds. In doing so they were raising money for the Anthony Nolan Trust. The four mile cross country course involved climbing over the jumps that make up the Blenheim European Horse trials. It also involved running through the Palace river, twice! Apart from the fun a most pleasing aspect was the involvement of old and new students. Some of the new students were completing their first week in Oxford and their genorisity is to be commended.

The photograph shows Paula presenting the cheque for £125 Anna Spencer, the Areas's Appeals Officer for the Trust. Also present are Emma, Skye, Zoe, Celiene, Milau and Kevin who particiapted in the run.

Over the last 30 years, the Anthony Nolan Trust has grown from the personal crusade of one mother to become a world leader in the field of tissue type analysis and tissue transplant technology.

Although Shirley's quest could not keep her son alive, the work of the Anthony Nolan has given over 4,000 children and adults the gift of life since the charity was founded over 30 years ago. Last year alone, our work gave 456 people that same gift.

Our pioneering role has continually placed Anthony Nolan at the forefront of developments in tissue transplantation and bone marrow register management. The Anthony Nolan Trust continues to evolve - to ensure it is doing everything possible to maximise the survival chances of anyone needing a bone marrow transplant.
