After a successful series of fundraising events, a cheque for £1643 - the cost of setting up a classroom in a developing country - was presented to a representative of Oxfam. This was (some of) the proceeds from the James Bond themed fashion show / charity auction and cake raffle held recently. The students put together the glitzy, themed 007 show for staff, students, local parents and friends of St. Clare's.

Student review
The evening started off with a song by our talented Matilda McFall, followed by the James Bond fashion show. What made it more enjoyable to watch was that it was modelled by St. Clare's students displaying clothes that had been donated by the local Oxfam charity shop. After all the arduous efforts put in by the models, stylists and directors, this part of the evening was highly appreciated and turned out to be a laugh to watch, especially by fellow students and parents.

Following the fashion show was the charity auction. A vast variety of donations were given to us including a 6 month LA Fitness membership, restaurant coupons, hampers and other items. The result of the auction was obvious by the jubilant atmosphere and the delighted expressions on the faces of the fundraising committee and all other members of the St. Clare's community involved.

The successful evening ended with a well-suited song by Matilda McFall, Somewhere over the Rainbow, communicating the message that the aim of the evening was to better the lives of those less fortunate than us, and we were successful in doing so.

Congratulations and thanks again to all staff and students involved in the organisation, donations and contributions to raise this significant sum, and to generous friends and organisations for donations for the auction.
