Hill Walking Group
On Saturday, the St. Clare's Hill Walking Club went exploring in the Cotswolds. Eleven students from IB1 and IB2 started their walk in the classic Cotswolds village of Guiting Power. The first trio to lead the group were Yuliya, Tara and Maya on this 14.5 km route. The remaining members of the group also displayed their map reading skills along the Windrush Way and through Guiting Wood. A picnic overlooking the ancient Hamlet of Hawling completed a very enjoyable day.

Running Club
On Sunday, eight IB1 students who are members of the St. Clare's Running Club took part in the Woodstock Rotary Club's annual 10 km road race in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.

Blenheim Palace grounds provided the picturesque course for the 658 runners. Philip Glocker was the first member of the team home in 45:22 mins. In the overall rankings he was the 153rd person to cross the line. Yuliya Teterina completed the course in 52:37 mins and was placed first in the under-18 female category. The other members of the team were Kilian Huber, Ben Tollington, Daniil Podimakhin, Alona Myshelovka, Anna Guenther and Temuulen Nanzad. All members were presented with medals of achievement.

Women's Football report
On Tuesday last the St. Clare's women's football team played their first match of the year. The team was defeated 2-1 in a thrilling encounter with Bellerby's College, Oxford. The St. Clare's goal came from Virginia Taroni (English Course) after some good work by Kate Mulee and Fabienne Nassy (both IB1). The Celtic Kevin's (Ryce and Hennessy) were very pleased with the second half display from the women. The squad consists of students from the Banbury Road Campus and Bardwell Road Centre. The team continues to train every Tuesday at the Kidlington and Gosford indoor sports hall.
