Welcome to St. Clare's: a very different Sixth Form experience
International Baccalaureate Open Day |
Saturday 28 April 2007 |
starts 10:00 until 14:00 hrs
at 139 Banbury Road |
|
We are looking forward to meeting you and your family, showing you around the College and telling you all about the International Baccalaureate Diploma. You will be able to talk to our College Principal, Paula Holloway, meet members of our teaching staff and take a College tour guided by some of our current students.
If you'd like to come and see the College at another time, we're always very happy to make an appointment for you to visit.
Our recent open days have highlighted how many people are interested in learning more about the IB Diploma. This is hardly surprising in light of the new UCAS tariff which compares IB scores with A levels and the recent surveys of how highly regarded applicants with the IB are by top universities both in Britain and around the world.
Chris Osbourn, Admissions Registrar at St. Clare's, was formerly an admissions professional at Cambridge University and King's College, London. Chris recalls how these universities welcomed IB student applications, as the grading system and demands of the IB demonstrated the candidate's abilities and talents so well, and allowed real distinctions between candidates to be made.
St. Clare's has offered the IB longer than any other provider in England, (and 41st in the world!) You'll find lots of background information in our online IB guide, and can also contact us if you have specific questions about how we teach the IB and why we believe the IB Diploma to be such an important qualification.
Please do contact Chris - he will also be able to tell you about our range of Scholarships and Bursaries and the Application Procedure.
