1. The applicant and/or their family approach the Admissions Registrar to make an initial enquiry about St. Clare's and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. This can be done most effectively by:

Email: admissions@stclares.ac.uk
Telephone: 01865 517304
By post or in person:
Chris Osbourn
Admissions Registrar
St. Clare's, Oxford
139 Banbury Road
Oxford OX1 7AL

2. The relevant brochure and application form would be sent out or given to the applicant. The completed application form would then be returned to the Admissions Registrar, along with the non-refundable Registration Fee (£100), details of the applicant's current/most recent school, and a report from that school indicating recent grades and marks obtained by the applicant.

3. The application is acknowledged and the applicant and his/her family are invited to visit St. Clare's. This visit would consist of a tour of the College, a meeting with the Principal and an informal interview with the Vice-Principal. Please note that if the applicant cannot attend a visit to St. Clare's because of geographical or logistical reasons, the interview may be conducted by telephone.

4. If the outcome of the interview is satisfactory, a reference would be requested from the applicant's current or most recent school.

5. If this reference is satisfactory, then a formal offer of a place would be made by St. Clare's.

6. The applicant's place is confirmed once the Admissions Registrar has received written confirmation that the applicant wishes to accept the place and once the Enrolment Deposit (£2500) has been received. At this point, college accommodation would be allocated to the applicant should they wish to attend St. Clare's as a residential student. A Study Certificate confirming the applicant's place would be sent to the applicant so that the applicant has official confirmation of his/her place. This may be useful should the applicant need to apply for a Student Visa.

7. Joining instructions are issued to all students who are expected to join St. Clare's during the summer prior to the start of their course. These instructions will also contain information about orientation activities.

8. New students attend four days of orientation activities prior to start of the teaching term.

We look forward to welcoming you to St. Clare's.

Admissions Registrar
