Keynote speaker at University of Antwerp

Suso was invited as a keynote speaker to read a paper at the prestigious Instituto de Estudios Hispanicos of the University of Antwerp. His paper dealt with the way the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) affected domestic life based on a literary analysis of works that reflected how dramatically Spanish private history changed during the Conflict.

The seminar was organised by Professor Jacques De Bruyne, an acknowledged authority on Miguel de Cervantes and author of A Comprehensive Spanish Grammar published by Balckwell's.

Suso teaches Spanish language and literature to IB students whose first language is Spanish. He also teaches beginners Spanish to students wishing to learn a new language as part of their IB language requirement.

Suso is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars. In November 2006 he gave a presentation on Ramón Salazar on Madrid at the Memories of Modernity - an international conference on Hispanic Cinema in Stony Brook, Manhattan.
