Foundation success

Our University Foundation Course has two entry dates: September and November. Students joining in September receive 7 weeks of intensive academic English language tuition and IELTS preparation prior to starting on their academic course work. We believe that this structure is the most effective way to ensure that Foundation Course students make good progress in their English language skills and acquire the study skills necessary to successfully undertake academic course work.

We are pleased to announce that the Foundation Course students who started in September with IELTS scores of 5.0-6.5 all improved their IELTS scores to 5.5-7.0 by the end of October.

This is a fantastic result and they should all be congratulated for their hard work and effort. They will now concentrate on the academic subjects of the programme in either the Business Studies stream or International Affairs from November until June. They will also continue to develop their English language, study, intellectual, organisational and interpersonal skills until the end of the course in June, when we are confident they will be able to function as reliable independent users in an English speaking tertiary education environment
