‘a centre of excellence' for English Language courses
A recent report in the
EL Gazette revealed the top EFL institutions in the country
according to the Publishable Statements of the British Council inspectors.
Every four years inspectors spend several days assessing the standards in accredited EFL
institutions under four categories: Management, Resources and environment, Teaching and
learning, Welfare and student services. They submit a full report of their findings to
the Accreditation Board for ratification. If ‘points of excellence' are awarded they
are highlighted in the ‘publishable statements' on the
Accreditation UK website.
I'm delighted to announce that St. Clare's, Oxford received seven ‘points of excellence':
for ‘care of juniors, premises, self-access facilities, teachers' qualifications,
teaching, pastoral care and leisure programme'.
The survey confirms that St. Clare's is rated Number 1 in Oxford and Number 3 in the
UK for the quality of its English Language Courses!
