Spinning for charity

Adrian Russell, a member of staff at St. Clare's, completed an epic Spinnathon to raise money for Sobell House Hospice in Oxford.

After the event Adrian wrote, "I would like to thank you all for sponsoring me on the Spinnathon. There were six of us who completed the full five hours and many more who took part cycling for one or two hours.

I am pleased to say I did the full five hours non stop without getting off the bike once and raised £225 personally and as a group around £3000 for Sobell House Hospice.

Finally some statistics:
  • According to my heart rate monitor I burnt a total of 3939 calories
  • drank over six litres of water
  • consumed three bananas, two energy bars and a large packet of jelly babies
  • cycled 118.2 killometres
  • averaged 70 rotational cycles a minute
  • a total of 21,000 rotations
Once again thank you for your support for this wonderful hospice."
