The first concert of the year

Many thanks to Philomena for organizing the half-term concert on Wednesday afternoon and to Maureen Lake for accompanying. There was a terrific turn-out of staff and students in the Hall to hear a rich and varied programme:

• A Romance by Edward German on clarinet by Zak Ely
• A medley of M & M songs by Linn Solheim Jacobsen with Matt Greenwood on guitar
• Giordano's love song Caro Mio Ben by Alexandra Dreier
• One of Chopin's nocturnes for piano by Louise
• Gluck's O Del Mio Dolce sung by Carlotta Richter
• The second movement of Haydn's trumpet concerto by Jan Philipp Mertens
• Sull'aria from Mozart's Marriage of Figaro sung by Alexandra Dreier and the singing teacher Rebecca Moseley-Morgan

This concert reflects the breadth of musical talent we have at St. Clare's and the excellent resources and teachers of the Music Department. Such varied and much appreciated concerts are held each term.
