Looking for Jupiter
St. Clare's is only one of two colleges in the UK to teach Astronomy as part of the IB Diploma.

		Last week saw the
 inauguration
 of
Telescope Evenings. Using the new Celestron CPC 1100 GPS,
Jupiter and its four main moons were sighted under clear skies. Simon Davis, who runs the course,
commented on the number of stars which can be seen with the telescope. He is planning
to have regular evenings like this roughly on a fortnightly basis - the evenings are open to everyone not
		just students taking the course.
