Sights and tastes of Portugal
Recently a group of adult students from our Bardwell Road centre, visited the
city of Lisbon in Portugal.
The group sampled pastries at Belen café, enjoyed a traditional Portuguese evening meal and discovered the nightlife in the Barrio
Alto district. The following morning, they took a tram to Castelo de Sao Jorge, which features
some of the best views of the city.
In the afternoon, they went to the magnificent Mosteiro dos Jeronimos - the rain came down just as
they arrived so running was the only option! An early Sunday morning visit to the Cathedral Sé de Lisboa was followed by a trip by train to Sintra to visit
the amazing Palace Pena. Later that day they visited the beach at Cascais - where Jaron, Ryan, Ingrid and
Saood were all brave enough to go swimming. A great weekend.
