One hundred percent and 45 points

Principal, Paula Holloway, is delighted to report that the IB Results have been excellent this year and, for the first time, the College has achieved a 100% pass rate for the Diploma. The Principal explains futher that "although everyone gets used to seeing these very high percentages for A Level Schools, it is worth reflecting on the fact that the average world-wide pass rate for the Diploma is around 80%".

Paula explains that "what is particularly pleasing – impressive I should say – is the way in which the academic performance of the College has improved dramatically this year.

  • The percentage of students achieving 40 points or more has increased from 15% to 22%, the equivalent to over 4 x A* at A level.
  • The percentage of students achieving 35 or more points increased from 48% to 65%, the equivalent to over 3 x A* at A level.
  • The percentage of students achieving 30 points or more increased from 83% to 91%.
  • The average point score per student [excluding retakes] has improved from 34.51 to 35.80.
  • One student achieved 45 points, the perfect score achieved by only 0.2 students who take the Diploma worldwide each year.

Everyone here is very pleased indeed to see how well the students have performed and the effort which they have made in order to achieve these results, especially those students who have out-performed our expectations of them as well as their own expectations.

I would also like to add my personal thanks to everyone who has been involved in the education of our students, both teaching and support staff, as the results speak for a College which is doing a very good job indeed".
