Head of Activities, Kevin Hennessy completed his first 45 mile Ultra Marathon last week.
In comparison, the normal 25 mile marathon or the 45 mile Ultra Marathon on a flat road
would be challenging, but members of the Witney Roadrunners team didn't want to take
the "easy" option.
The Brecon Beacons Ultra is notoriously arduous. A beautiful range of hills in Wales they require
some determined running. Kevin not only completed the race, and in a staggering 8 hours and 17 minutes, but
also came 23rd out of 160! What an incredible result. The Sunday afternoon joggers couldn't even
imagine that sort of effort and fitness. Kevin certainly is an inspiration for our college running
team.
