St. Clare's in Uruguay
Principal Paula Holloway, was delighted to meet her counterpart, Dr. Daniel Reta of St. Clare's College,
Punta del Este, Uruguay recently.
Dr. Reta founded his College following a series of visits to St. Clare's, Oxford as leader of a group of
summer course students. When deciding on a name for his institution Dr. Reta felt inspired by the outlook
and ethos of St. Clare's, Oxford and thus St. Clare's College, Uruguay was born.
The College, which has been offering the International Baccalaureate since January 2006, is a bilingual
co-educational day school which combines Uruguayan education with international studies. The programme is
taught in English and Spanish and courses start at pre-school level leading up to University entrance exams.
We are very pleased that St. Clare's, Oxford has made such a positive impression on Dr. Reta and wish him and
his colleagues continued success.
