St. Clare's 1 Woodgreen School, Witney 4
The boys' football team were defeated 4 – 1 against Woodgreen School in the first round of the Oxfordshire Schools' league. Woodgreen scored their first goal from a set piece. The St. Clare's defence was not concentrating when the corner kick was taken and the striker finished from close range. The boys recovered well and the back five worked hard to stop Woodgreen attacks. Nick Fan made some crucial saves before the end of the first half. Arved Pohlabeln stopped all high balls over the defensive line. Lack of concentration before half time from another set piece resulted in a second Woodgreen goal. This was against the run of play. In the second half St. Clare's changed their formation and paired Daniel Galalae and Rezo Makalatiya as the strikers. Federico Pileri started to attack from the full back position. Daniel Galalae scored for St. Clare's after an excellent exchange of passes with Rezo Makalatiya. The team continued to push forward for an equaliser and Marco Ferrari came close with his shot rebounding off the cross bar. The gaps and spaces started to appear in the St. Clare's team and Woodgreen scored twice more to end thecontest 4 – 1. The team on duty was;
