Girls try 11-a-side

St. Clare's Girls' football team were defeated twice by Malvern College in fixtures played in Malvern and Oxford. Both matches offered the opportunity for the majority of the team to play 11-a-side football for the first time. There are two players, Hannah Woodfield and Madeleine de Brouchoven de Bergeyck who played in last year's squad. Both matches resulted in 5 – 0 defeats for St. Clare's.

The team play the first round match in the Independent School's Cup next month against last year's champions, ACS Cobham.

The 2011/12 squad is made up of five second year students; Hannah Woodfield, Emma Louise Kollien Gjerde, Sara Halkiopoulos, Madeleine de Brouchoven de Bergeyck and Sarah Burlein; four first year students; Riikka Avotie, Manuela Sanchiz Garin, Helen Schlemminger; Ieva Matulaityte and four Pre IB students; Giulia Merla, Kristin Doneva, Anna Nagel, Gabriela Berthier de Almeida Tedesco).
