High wire and hard tasks
Most students head home for a relaxing break with their friends and families over the autumn half term.
But for eleven thrill seeking and adventurous students this was not the case. They enjoyed a fun filled
week of canoeing, mountain walking, caving, gorge scrambling, rock climbing, a high ropes course, and a
day giving back to the environment that enabled them to do all these exciting activities by carrying out
some conservation work.
In the evenings they were challenged with orienteering courses, problem solving games and a night walk.
They also enjoyed a trip to the local cinema and an evening of ten pin bowling and some fine British cuisine
including, short bread, marmite, pasties, penguin bars and of course fish and chips.
The trip enabled all students to develop skills such as team work, resilience, communication determination
and confidence. But most of all they had lots of fun and the memories will last them a life time.
