Boys' Football League result

The boys' football team played their first game on their new home pitch, at the Community Arena against Bartholomew's School, Eynsham. The game ended in a 2 -2 draw.

The positives were;
  • Rezo Makalatiya and Arjaldo Karaj started their first league game of the season. Both players have started to impress in training.
  • Shi Yang Zhang is continuing to develop his football skill (strong in the tackle, his positioning without the ball and his eagerness to join the attack).
  • Marco Ferrari is continuing to develop into a dominant play maker for St. Clare's. He made some really good decisions with the ball yesterday and scored an excellent goal.
  • Remigiusz Manko and Janez Kosec played in two different positions yesterday, displaying their versatility and fitness levels. Janez also scored a goal from the penalty spot.
  • The team was very compact and organised in their formation for the first half.

The team need to work on;
  • Choosing the right shot choice and technique to score goals
  • Players thinking individually what to do when the team does not have possession of the ball
  • The goal keeper and defence working on defending set play such as corners, free kicks and throw in.
  • Maintaining a solid compact shape for the duration of the game
