Learning curve on court
The badminton team was in action again on Wednesday 29 February. Fully motivated the six players drove to Magdalen
College School to compete. The team was composed of Hussain, Paul, Miras, Leonard, Max, and Jakob. From
the start all the players knew that it was going to be a difficult game but they gave it their best. Most
of the players won at least one set within their individual matches but were then unfortunately outmatched
by the strong Magdalen College School team.
Hussain playing as ‘A' and Paul playing as ‘B', played very well during their singles matches but unfortunately
it was not enough. Similarly, the double matches went well for the whole team, however due to silly mistakes
the team was not able to come away with a win. On the positive end however, Miras and Leonard were able to win
their doubles game after an outstanding performance from Miras in the back court and Leonard smashing the shuttle
in the front court. All together the competition was very successful for the team. Max and Jakob played well
during their doubles game however shortcomings forced them to lose. It was a valuable experience and hopefully
next time St. Clare's will be the victors.
