St. Clare's – 1 Burford School – 0

The boys' football team gained three valuable points in the schools' league with a deserved victory over Burford School. St. Clare's travelled with 11 players with Marco Ferrari and Janez Kosec unavailable for selection. The game plan was very simple. St. Clare's would build their phases from a strong and solid defence with plenty of possession football. They did pass much more than the Burford team who liked to play the more direct ball into attack. Ridi Kotja and his defence did keep things tight and solid for the first ten minutes of the game. This was a change from conceding goals in this time period in previous matches. It was good to see Ridi, Arved, Federico and Shi Yang tackling fair and strong along with winning headers. Daniel Galalae, Remigiusz Manko and Nik Rehm were able to gain an advantage in midfield after getting past the first tackle.

The deadlock was broken in the second half when an attack which involved a number of St. Clare's players and passes was finished by Remigiusz Manko. The Burford goal keeper was busy dealing with shots from Daniel Galalae, Rezo Makalatiya, Milivoje Sestovic and Arjaldo Karaj. On the other side, Nick Fan did very well to keep his concentration and put the ball out for a corner with a fine save with ten minutes left.

The performance was very pleasing considering the small squad that was available and a very heavy rugby pitch surface.

The team on duty was;
Chung Yin (Nicolas) Fan; Federico Pileri; Shi Yang Zhang; Arved Pohlabeln; Ridi Kotja; (Captain), Niklas Rehm; Arjaldo Karaj; Daniel Galalae; Remigiusz Manko; Rezo Makalatiya; Milivoje Sestovic.
