Language teachers
This is a job description for posts for hourly-paid teachers of Language A Literature on the International Baccalaureate programme at St. Clare's. Students take a Group 1 subject, which is literature in their mother tongue, as well as a group 2 course in a second language. For a Standard Level course with 1 -4 students, they are taught in two one- hour classes per week. For September 2012 we are looking for teachers of Azeri, Czech, Estonian, Romanian, Thai, Turkish and Persian. For each of these subjects there is one student who will prepare for the Standard Level examination in May 2014. The course is common to all languages, with literature in that language and some works in translation from another language. All the teaching and examining will be in the student's mother tongue, not using English.The person
The candidates for these posts must be graduates, preferably in literature or a related subject, but not necessarily. A keen interest in literature is essential and the successful candidate must be comfortable teaching native speakers in their mother tongue.Essential requirements:

- Ability to teach literature to native speakers at pre-university level
- Strong interest in literature
Desirable:
- Degree qualification in literature or related subject
- Teaching experience
Terms and conditions:
For part-time hourly paid posts the salary is currently £34.19 per hour, based on the number of hours taught. Salary is subject to income and National Insurance deductions. The academic year is 35 weeks, from late August until mid-June, with breaks at the end of term and mid-term in October and February. Classes are timetabled between 9.00 and 16.15, Monday to Friday.
