Boys Basketball Team make Oxfordshire County Final 2012

Congratulations to the Boys' Basketball team who defeated King Alfred's, Wantage in the County semi-final, 26 - 20.

The boys gave it their all from the beginning and although the score line is so low, it does not do justice to the offensive and defensive effort played by both teams.

King Alfred's played a traditional 3-2 Zone defence, which used their large players to the maximum. St. Clare's used a combination of Triangle and 1-4 to open the middle and their shooters, but although shots were taken, the ball just would not drop in for either team.

Eventually, King Alfred's took a 5 point lead with 4 minutes left in the last quarter, which forced St. Clare's to push the ball harder and chase the game, which they did and stopped King Alfred's altogether, whilst taking their defensive zone apart allowing St. Clare's to score 11 unanswered points and win the game 26-20.

The team on duty was:
Michal Wisniewski;(Captain), Rokas Augunas; Emilis Romaskevicius; Nikola Vucicevic; Tinnabhand
Patana-Anake; Amir Amangeldi, Mohammadali Badri, Alex Machado.
