Successful second for Volleyball team

In the Oxford Volleyball Schools Tournament the team faced four different squads from local schools. The team got together on Thursday at the Oxford Ferry pool sports centre to warm up and prepare for the games.

The first few games went with great success, St. Clare's was unbeatable against Banbury School and everyone played in coordination with each other, and the highlight of the tournament was our girls' victory over Cherwell under 16 boys team.

We have had a lot of practice during the recent months and greatly increased our team play. The last game was the most significant for the team, when we played the 16+ Cherwell School boys' team. The game was close (27-25 in the second set) but resulted in our team finishing the tournament in second place.

Without doubt everyone who participated enjoyed the experienced, for some it was the first time they were able to participate in a match. We certainly hope to repeat such games, and aim to prevail over Cherwell the next time we meet.
