Girls' football team played well against Malvern College
The girls' played a 2 – 2 draw with Malvern College in their first game of the new season. We hosted Malvern at our home pitch based at Oxford City FC. Our girls scored their two goals in the first half. Giulia Merla scored after a well taken corner kick from Carla Dupont. Giulia was also involved in the second, passing back to Abigail Myers who struck the ball over the Malvern goalkeeper. The opposition equalised in the second half. Both teams were close to securing victory in the final stages. In the defence Anna Llewellyn and Paula Urruticoechea played a wonderful partnership. Isabella Iacovone and Manoella Galvao Dias closed down the Malvern wingers. The midfield partnership of Carla Dupont and Abigail Myers started all of our attacks. Luisa Opice, Katherine Ferretti Luzi, Flavia Mansur Starling, and Amalie Reitan worked tirelessly to offer width to our team attacks. Giulia Merla and Valentina Lonne Andreose also gave us plenty of passing options in attack.
