Orientation Day for our adult students in London

New faces, new courses, new places: there's always so much to learn at the beginning of the new academic year.

For the students at St. Clare's, Oxford (International Further Education College), the orientation included a guided tour of the sights of London. On the first Saturday of the new term a party of 65 students set off by coach for London, many for their first visit to the capital. The Walking Tour began from the London Eye, went across Westminster Bridge, past Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, along the Mall to Buckingham Palace, and back again to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery.

Highlights included the joyful sounds of the 1000 piece steel band (part of the Thames River Festival) and encounters with Paralympic athletes enjoying the city after their exertions in the Olympic Park. Even the weather cooperated and added to the party atmosphere.
