Salsa group add Latin flavour to Oxford Light Night

Last Friday the College Salsa group had their first big performance in Oxford. They performed on the main dance stage as part of the Oxford Light Night celebrations when Oxford welcomes in the Christmas season.

The group have only been together since September and for some this was their first time ever having performed in front of an audience, let alone in front of several hundred!

The dancers were: Taisija Sifirina, Albina Almetova, Sohani Jayaratne, Maciej Pysklo and Moritz Rakow. They were welcomed on stage with a fantastic applause and lots of support from fellow students. After all the extra rehearsals and practice the final performance went well and we look forward to perfecting it even more for the next performance.

Through Salsa these students have developed more confidence, responsibility, a sense of expression through dance, teamwork and body awareness.
