Shoeboxes for Christmas

A student-led activity, the Overseas Community Project, sent off 15 gift-filled shoeboxes this week as part of Operation Christmas Child, a project organised by Christian charity Samaritan's Purse. The shoeboxes will be sent to underprivileged children across the world who do not get Christmas presents.

Students across the College pulled together to fill a shoebox in each student house, donating all sorts from toothpaste to Barbie dolls. They were then wrapped and taken into Oxford City Centre to a local drop off point by members of the Overseas Community Project.

Sairah Rees, a second-year IB student, said: “It was great to see so many students get involved and donate gifts. Through this project, we have raised awareness of world poverty and we look forward to forthcoming fundraising events.”
