St. Clare's Boys Football Team - 1 St. Gregory's - 1
The Boys' football team drew 1-1 with St. Gregory's School, Oxford in the Oxfordshire Schools league 2012/13. St. Clare's hosted St. Gregory's at our home pitch based at Oxford City FC. The teams were evenly matched for the first half hour. The St. Clare's midfield was finding it very difficult to deal with the central mid pairing from St. Gregs. The visitors scored in the 40 minute when St. Clare's struggled to play the ball successfully out of defence. The team changed formation in the second half and introduced Vitor and Nikita instead of Dean and Jan Phan. St. Clare's got to grips with the opposition's midfield and the tireless running by Remigiuz resulted in a well taken goal by substitute Nikita Fadeev. Federico did have a chance to score a second goal but his effort struck the post. The pleasing aspects of the game were;- Daniele Schmidt-Fischer performance in goal
- The determination of the team to come back from 1-0 down to draw and very nearly win the game
- The developing understanding of the defensive four to play as a unit
- The impact of Vitor and Nikita performance coming off the substitute's bench
