Careers trip to medical conference

Three aspiring medics, currently studying their first year of the IB Diploma, went to a medical conference to learn about this demanding career from real medical students and medical school admissions officers.

The ‘Applications for Medicine’ conference in Oxfordshire, included speakers such as the Director of Admissions from the University of Oxford who talked about what medical schools look for in an applicant and life as a medical student.

George Speller, St. Clare's Head of Biology, said: "This Biology careers trip provided useful information regarding the similarities and differences between entrance requirements of different medical schools and the importance of researching the contents and teaching methods of each course."
