Nine of our IB students put down their text books and picked up a spade to join the Oxford Conservation Volunteers at Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve (NNR).
The Aston Rowant NNR, managed by Natural England, is on the Chiltern Hills and part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Despite the very cold day, our students were able to make a big difference by clearing the scrub from the chalk grasslands to help protect the natural habitats.
As part of the CAS (Creativity, Action and Service) element of the IB Diploma, our students are encouraged to volunteer in the local community on a variety of projects such as this one.
