The Oxford University Museum of Natural History

One of our IB Biology students, Ali Naif Dzhaber, had an exciting day at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, collecting morphometric data from skulls stored in the museum's archives.

His work at the museum will contribute to his Extended Essay, which aims to investigate the relationship between eye orbit volume, orbit orientation on the skull and behaviour of the animal. Ali focused on the skulls of herbivores and carnivores; he seemed particularly taken with the leopard skull but also enjoyed studying the large herbivores including a giraffe.
