North Hinksey Conservation Volunteers

Recently, a group of our IB students helped the North Hinksey Conservation Volunteers in Oxfordshire. The students spent 3 hours on a very blustery day helping to clear paths, cut back overgrown bushes and remove ivy from trees.

The area is used regularly by locals and provides a natural corridor for a variety of animals, including badgers, foxes and deer. When asked to sum up their experiences of the day, here is what our students had to say:

  • "Even though we only cleaned up a small area, the vicinity looked much more organised."
  • "It was difficult due strong wind, but overall I enjoyed it, a lot!"
  • "The best part was that I could see the results of my work. "
  • "The experience of conservation has taught me a lot about nature, such as the different species of vegetation."
  • "I really would like to attend again!"

We would like to thank all of the students who participated for their hard work on the day!
