Warwick Castle

A group of our students from Bardwell Road recently enjoyed a trip to Warwick Castle. Alongside enjoying the stunning scenery, the excursion was a great opportunity to learn about the history of the castle, which is celebrating it's 1100th anniversary this year.

The records for the castle can be traced back to the Saxon fortification which was used to defend against invading Danes. The first castle to appear on the site was a wooden motte and bailey constructed in 1068 at the command of William the Conqueror. The Castle was then gradually rebuilt in stone throughout the middle ages.

It was a pleasant day for a visit and all of the group thoroughly enjoyed the trip!
