Two of our alumni from IB13, Sairah Rees and Juan Correa, made the short journey up the Banbury Road from their respective Oxford University colleges (St. Anne’s and Christ Church) on Monday evening to take part in an extremely entertaining and enlightening Q & A session.
A group of more than 20 IB14 and IB15 students were able to find out about Sairah and Juan’s experience of the Oxbridge application and their first term at this historic university. The enjoyment that both are gaining from studying at Oxford was clearly evident in their responses; we heard how the intensity and inspiration of learning in small tutorial groups is complemented by a rich and invigorating social life.
Both stressed that the time and effort spent preparing for an Oxbridge application, including the hard work needed to reach the required IB points, was well worth the subsequent rewards.
