The Gold Duke of Edinburgh candidates completed their first practice expedition on the Black Mountains in Wales. The mixed team of Carlotta Missiroli, Aneirin (Nye) Rhys Potter, Ekaterina Arshinova and Anastasia Grebelskaya worked together for the weekend concentrating on camp craft and cooking.
The all-female team of Mirabel Anosike, Fatima Hamid, Ievgeniia Shestunova and Zuzanna Dembinska concentrated on navigation skills, walking with a back pack for three days and camping out for two nights.
The weather was kind to the group during the day but it was windy and cold in the wild camping site between Twmpa (690 metres) and the Sugar Loaf (596 metres).
We wish the group the best of luck for their second Gold expedition practice (May 9 - May 11) in the Black Mountain.
