A Trip to the Royal Observatory

Last weekend, a group of our Bardwell students enjoyed a trip to The Royal Observatory in Greenwich. The students were interested to learn about how longitude was first conceived as an idea through from an entertaining Nevil Maskelyne character.

After the visit, the group went to London's only planetarium, where they took in the fantastic information and visualisations of the night sky from the experiences of real astronomers. The afternoon was spent visiting the Cutty Sark ship and Greenwich market
