St. Clare's has a fantastic Summer course for students who will begin their studies on the International Baccalaureate Diploma in September 2014.
The three-week introduction course is designed to give students an invaluable head start on their IB Diploma, including; an understanding of the demands that an IB student will face, a firm foundation in key components of the course and an introduction to the subject matter.
There are 24 hours of subject tuition each week, providing introductory courses in; Science, Mathematics, English and Individuals and Societies, Languages and the Arts. These are combined with elements of The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Creativity, Action and Service (CAS).
The IB Introduction course will help students to develop new skills, build on strengths and address weaknesses. They will have the opportunity to take part in lectures, local excursions and study visits, alongside public speaking and debating.
As the IB Summer School draws on St. Clare's extensive experience and resources, a firm offer of a place on the IB Diploma Programme (starting in the same year as the Summer school) is required for entry onto the course.
