Basketball victory
Our boys' basketball team claimed a victory over rivals Lord Williams's School, Thame,
beating them comprehensively by 38-13.
Even though their opponents were big (one player reached 6'5”), St. Clare's had worked on a
great offensive strategy concentrating on its starting five: Amir Amangeldi, Tinnabhand
Patana-Anake, Jules Kleitman, Thomas Cox and Vitas Janukonis, and were tight on the defensive
too, which meant that after half time they held a 29-9 lead.
The most valuable player of the match was awarded to Tinnabhand Patana-Anake for his defensive
tenacity, huge amount of rebounds and for finding the open players. This was also the team's
first game in their new kit. Vitas Janukonis scored a spectacular 27 points.
Basketball is one of the many Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) activities which our IB students
can take part in. To find out more, visit our
